What's in a name?

 

WoWaikiki is short for ‘Wellawatte on Waikiki’ named after the beloved costal area of Wellawatte in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Wellawatte means ‘Beach Garden’ and we believe our home offers that perfect balance of a beautiful beach with a spacious garden and bushland to boot all at hand for our wonderful guests.

 

Wellawatte is a buzzing market area of Colombo renowned for their jewellery and textile shops as well as the beautiful beachfront sweeping it’s border. It is home to one of the Colombo’s famous icons, the Savoy Cinema, as well as the Kinross Swimming and Life Saving Club.​

Only a short 3 minute walk to YCW beach for surfing, exploring rock pools, wallaby watching or just strolling along the sand.

 

Smiths Beach is only a 5 minute walk from WOWaikiki  and boasts one of the best surfing and swimming beaches on Phillip Island. Patrolled during the summer by the local Surf Life Saving Club, this on-lead, dog-friendly beach is ideal for beach lovers both young and young at heart.
